Terms & Conditions

Please read this section carefully. When you book you guarantee that you have the authority to accept and accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. All accommodation and travel arrangements are sold by us are subject to these conditions.

CONTRACT. A contract exists as soon as we despatch our confirmation detailing what you have booked. This contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions, which are governed by English Law. Your contract is with Maison Shanti.

BOOKING. A deposit of 25% of the full cost of the package is required if you book 60 days or more prior to departure. If you book less than 60 days prior to departure the full amount is payable. We will despatch a confirmation on receipt of the deposit. Please check it carefully as items not on your confirmation will not be supplied. Once confirmation is despatched your contract is made with Maison Shanti and the deposit is non-refundable. Deposits may be claimable on your insurance.

OPTIONS. An oral request or provision of an option does not give rise to contractual obligations to you or to Maison Shanti and may be cancelled by either party. We do not hold options on late availability bookings.

FINAL PAYMENT. This is due 60 days before your departure date and if we do not receive the balance by the due date we reserve the right to cancel without refund. Key collection details will not be despatched until the outstanding balance is received by us. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ISSUE REMINDERS, therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that the balance monies reach us on time.

ACCOMODATION DESCRIPTIONS. All descriptions given either verbally or in writing are made in good faith based on the information believed to be correct at the time. However, changes can take place, which are out of our control. Our reservations staff will endeavour to notify you of any changes before your departure date. Photographs of accommodation are non contractual. Please note that family rooms are not necessarily larger than the norm.

CANCELLATIONS. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by the person who signed the booking form. The following cancellation charges are payable as a proportion of the cost from the date we receive the written confirmation. The number of days prior to departure are to the day on which written notice is received by us.

More than 60 days: Deposit
30 - 60 days 50%
Less than 30 days 100%

In the very unlikely event that the accommodation becomes unavailable due to circumstances outside our control we will endeavour to provide you with alternative similar accommodation or refund your payments to us in full.

AMENDMENTS. If you wish to amend your booking in any way once a confirmation has been issued, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Amendments of dates and accommodation involve an administration charge of £25.00 if more than 60 days prior to departure. After 60 days the charge increases to £50.00. Dishonoured cheques will be treated as a cancellation with relevant charges payable.

RENTAL FEE. The rent stated in the contract covers all the normal running costs, such as water, electricity, gas, garden upkeep and linen. The rent includes fees and taxes, but does not included telephone costs and line rentals.

PERIOD OF RENTAL. Rentals begin and end on Saturdays and commence, unless otherwise notified, at 5pm on the day of arrival and terminate at 10am on the day of departure.

DEPOSIT. In addition to the rental fee there will be a deposit of £250. The deposit will be return to you 10 days after the end of your stay, minus the cost of any extraordinary expenses, damage or loss of inventory caused.

CARE OF THE PROPERTY. You are responsible to take all reasonable and proper care of the property and its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same state of repair and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning. You will be liable for the cost of any damages, breakages, losses and any extra cleaning or repair costs, which are incurred due to non-compliance with this condition.

NUMBER OF PERSONS USING THE PROPERTY. The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed six. Maison Shanti reserve the right to refuse entry to the entire party if this condition is not observed.

INVENTORY. The Inventory means the list of Maison Shanti's possessions at the Property, which has been signed by you on arrival.

LIABILITY. We will not be under any liability to you or third parties for any loss or damage arising from breach of contract, negligence, misrepresentation or otherwise. If the property which you have booked becomes unavailable or unusable for some reason prior to the date of booking, then our obligation will be to 1) use the best endeavour to find a suitable alternative property, or failing which, 2) to reimburse you for any monies paid.

RIGHT OF ENTRY. Representatives of Maison Shanti will be allowed the right of entry to the property at all reasonable times for the purpose of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs of maintenance.

COMPLAINS. Complains about the material quality of the property must be brought to the Maison Shanti's attention by phone within 72 hours after arrival. This will be followed by a recorded delivery letter sent within 4 days after your arrival. Once this time has lapsed, no complaint can be investigated. No representative is authorised to make or promise refunds and no such promises will be met by Maison Shanti.

SMOKING. The property is a non-smoking property

VISAS, PASSPORTS AND BAGGAGE. At press date British citizens do not need a Visa for our European destinations but must take a valid passport. Most non-EU nationals need a Visa for France, Switzerland and Austria and must arrange this themselves.

Clients are reminded that they are responsible for their own personal documents, baggage and personal possessions.

GENERAL. Start day and finish day of your stay are stated on your confirmation. We are not responsible for your travel to and from this point or for any expenses incurred including travel, accommodation, subsistence and loss of earnings caused by delay in return to your departure point, howsoever caused.

The risk of your holiday being adversely affected by weather conditions has to be accepted. We will not be liable for any loss, delay or costs connected with or arising out of adverse weather conditions, including blocked roads. If, as a result of a force majeure, you miss your return departure and extra accommodation is required, We will not be responsible for that cost. We strongly recommend you to take insurance which, subject to terms, will cover this.

Where excursions or services are provided by a company outside Maison Shanti, even where such excursions or services are sold through our representative or a supplier of Maison Shanti, we will have no liability.

All clients undertake not to damage their accommodation and to abide by the local regulations (especially in relation to noise). Clients are liable for the cost of any damage and any loss and Maison Shanti reserve the right to recover costs from the client if necessary before homeward travel. The party leader shall be liable in the first instance for any claim against the party.
